It’s only after several rounds of Bowmasters that they will learn about the Membership or quests. There’s IAPs, character unlocks, daily gifts and quests, achievements, and a Diamond Membership.Īll of these are drip-fed to a new player, rather than bombarding them with too much information up front. While Bowmasters’ core loop is straightforward to learn, there are plenty of other mechanics in the game that could overwhelm the player if presented too early. Don't overload players with too much info too early They’ll see news and stories on a regular basis via Playgendary’s social channels, and also have the strong social hook of their friends playing too. Not only will these actions help to swell the number of Bowmasters’ players and followers on social media, but it will also create additional reasons for players to keep playing the game. These include following Playgendary’s social media accounts and sharing the game with a certain number of friends, asking them to join the game. However, there is also a number of characters that can only be obtained when the player completes certain actions. Give exclusive items for completing certain actionsīowmasters comes with a wide range of playable characters which can be unlocked with in-game currency or IAP. This has the double effect of getting players to engage with those mechanics, as well as incentivizing them to watch an ad. You can also claim 2x the amount of reward items by watching an ad. It makes them part of other retention mechanics, such as daily rewards and free chests.Īfter claiming a daily reward, players can skip ahead and claim tomorrow’s reward in exchange for watching an ad. Incentivize video ads in creative waysīowmasters makes use of video ads in ways that are appealing for the player. Let’s take a look at some of the specific points that we can learn from Playgendary’s title. What you can learn from Bowmastersīowmasters is a colorful, playful and streamlined mobile game, with very few barriers for the player to clear before they can enjoy the game. We’ve also laid out some of the things that Bowmasters can teach us about making a successful mobile game, and some areas that we think it could improve. In our video below, we walk through the FTUE of Bowmasters, from its listing on the App Store to its social features. Instead, Playgendary’s title combines simple pick-up-and-play gameplay with colorful visuals and a smooth first-time user experience (FTUE). However, Bowmasters’ success isn’t purely down to the App Store’s editorial team taking a liking to it and giving it prominent featuring. Playgendary has also kept supporting the game with new features, characters and weapons released in the form of updates. With its accessible gameplay and colorful, playful style, it’s also been a regular pick for store featuring.īowmasters features plenty of modes and unlockables on top of its lively multiplayer gameplay. Released in 2016, the game has proved consistently popular and is a regular in the top 100 US Games charts as well as the top 20s for Action and Arcade. Bowmasters is a turn-based aim-and-shoot game developed by Playgendary.

They’re sometimes necessary for soliciting specific information. It’s not that you should never ask closed questions.Plus, open-ended questions take the conversation deeper, which makes it a more satisfying experience for both parties. And because they demonstrate the asker’s curiosity and interest in the other person, the other person reciprocally becomes more interested in the asker. In contrast, open questions cause the responder to reflect and reveal a little more about themselves, which people generally enjoy doing. One closed question fired right after another can make a conversation feel more like a shallow, stilted interview. In what way is that similar/different from. Why do you feel that’s the only way out?.They’re more like essay questions, and the genius of them is that they’re accordion-like in nature: rather than putting people on the spot, open-ended questions allow them to reveal more or less about themselves, depending on their comfort level. Open questions, on the other hand, solicit the other person’s thoughts, feelings, and/or interests and can be answered in ways that are more diverse and expansive. They fish for facts, and are akin to multiple choice questions on a test. Closed questions are those which can be answered in a few words or less. And not just any questions: open-ended Open Vs Closed Open Ended Questions The best way to ensure your effective listening grows into something more substantial and helps build client engagement is to ask the client questions. You make a conscious effort to hear and understand the complete message being spoken, rather than just passively hearing the message of the speaker. Active listening requires the listener to fully concentrate, understand, respond and then remember what is being said.It can also include providing the speaker with feedback, such as the asking of pertinent questions so the speaker knows the message is being understood. Effective listening skills are the ability to actively understand information provided by the speaker, and display interest in the topic discussed.Core 4: Effective Listening Skills Effective Listening Definition StringUtils.abbreviate("abcdefg", 3) = IllegalArgumentException StringUtils.abbreviate("abcdefg", 4) = "a." To check for macOS 10.15 Catalina support for your Epson. I’m pretty careful with my film, so I usually end up with very little dust, but for some situations ICE will be a big advantage. Epson will provide macOS 10.15 Catalina drivers and software for Epson products on an on-going basis. The other advantage of a good scanner is having ICE to remove the dust. Although, I find for most uses, I’m OK just taking a single shot on the digital camera setup of the 120 film, even if I sacrifice a little detail. Although Epson now offers a new Epson Scan 2 software for macOS Catalina and earlier, it does not work with macOS 11 Big Sur or Monterey. And stitching together multiple shots can be a real pain and result in distortion. When it comes to medium format 120 film, though, you may need to shoot a stitch multiple scans with a digital camera to match the sharpness of a good scanner. And once you get a setup you like, it is much much faster (I can scan an entire roll of 135 film in about 2 minutes with my digital camera setup… it may take almost this long just to scan a single frame on my Epson 600). Your image will be saved to the folder that’s selected in the Scan To pop-up menu. From what I’ve seen, though, I think that a good digital camera scan setup will outperform Epson scanners for 35mm film (in terms of resolution and sharpness). Adobes on-line support said theres no upgrade to allow Elements 11 to work with Catalina. Click the Scan button to begin scanning. used it) no longer works nor does my Epson V600 scanner. To adjust the scan settings such as Color Restoration and where the file is saved, click Show Details.Open Preview in macOS and select Import From Scanner from the File menu and select your Epson printer. Here’s how to scan on a Mac sing an Epson printer-scanner without Epson Event Manager: If you don’t have any third party scanning software on your Mac, you can still use the free Preview utility in macOS to scan with an Epson printer. If you’ve got an M1 Mac running Big Sur or Monterey, Epson is slowly releasing ICA scan drivers for M1 chip Macs and if it’s available, you’ll see macOS 11.x listed in the driver drop down list.įor example, you can find ICA scan drivers for M1 Macs using macOS 11.0 or above for the Epson WorkForce WF-3540 here. If it doesn’t for any reason, you can download the Epson Printer Driver Software For Mac. Your Mac should automatically install the right drivers when you connect your Epson printer-scanner for the first time which will allow you to connect it to external applications. The best way to scan using an Epson printer-scanner is by selecting your Epson printer-scanner as the source in professional scanning software such as FineReader PDF For Mac and Adobe Acrobat Pro. However, if you search for the ICA Scanner Driver Page it says “not found” but don’t fear as there are other ways to scan on a Mac using an Epson Printer including Big Sur and M1 Macs. Go to the Downloads tab on your product’s support page, and download and install the ICA Scanner Driver for Image Capture. 15 Catalina I just started using eero mesh network, but the printer wont connect to it. To use Image Capture, install Epson’s ICA Scanner Driver for Image Capture. You can use Apple’s Image Capture software instead. However, it’s no longer clear which versions of macOS Event Manager is available on and our advice is to use a dedicated OCR scanning software with your Epson Printer.Īlthough Epson now offers a new Epson Scan 2 software for macOS Catalina and earlier, it does not work with macOS 11 Big Sur or Monterey.Įpson Scan is not supported in macOS 11. On older versions of macOS, it may even be possible to select the Epson Event Manager software for macOS by going to Applications > Epson Software and then double-click the Event Manager icon. If you’ve got an Epson printer for your Mac, unfortunately there’s no longer any Epson Event Manager for Mac software if you want to scan or do OCR scanning on your Mac.Įpson Event Manager Utility is a Windows utility that’s used to provide support to different Epson devices and allows you yo connect it to other apps to do things such as scan to email, scan as PDF, scan to PC etc. If a change to the events and circumstances reflected in the Company's forward-looking statements occurs, the Company's business, financial condition and operating results may vary materially from those expressed in the Company's forward-looking statements. Hello sensational Cities: Skylines community! Upon winning a match, XP and Gold is earned, with the former The variety is fairly decent, with the Rambo styled rodent Ratbo, the magical Milloween, an extremely old lich named Mordar, and cute trickster King Puff, to mention only a few. Depending on the Master chosen, the perk could add a card to the deck that resurrects a fallen minion or set the bridges on fire, whilst others can give your range-based minions improved marksmanship. The Masters also have a part to play as their perks unlock during matches by taking control of the two bridges connecting the bases together, which garners XP. The tactical aspect is constantly throwing up possibilities, especially with only four cards in your hand to choose from at any time, as one must ponder whether to let the constantly recharging Mana meter build to release a devastatingly strong Red Golem or swiftly cash-in a smaller amount on a lesser card to garner access to whatever replaces it. Thinking on your feet is the order of the day as options are weighed up as to what cards to use, where to place them, and when it’s the best time to counter-act the incoming enemies. These cards come to life in an exciting manner, with some really unique designs on show, and the minions swiftly start fighting in what’s akin to a mass brawl. Now, in addition to this, Garmin also announced the new Forerunner 265, which is also an AMOLED display version of the existing Forerunner 255. – Price is $599 vs $499 for Forerunner 955 base and $599 for Forerunner 955 Solar – Fully supports Physio TrueUp 2.0 (Unified Training Status, albeit now so does Forerunner 955) – Revamped user interface to sorta-match the Garmin Epix AMOLED units – Added built-in Running Dynamics (e.g., Vertical Ratio, Ground Contact Time, etc…) without any sensor – Added Chronic Training Load feature (also now available for FR955/Fenix 7 series on Garmin Connect app) – Added new Training Load Ratio feature (coming to FR955/Fenix 7 series shortly) – Switched to USB-C Garmin charging cable (same watch port design as previous) – Added Titanium bezel (previously was plastic) – Lens material is Gorilla Glass 3 (previously was Corning Gorilla Glass DX) – Weight is 53g for FR965 vs 52g for FR955 Solar – Increased detail in maps at higher zoom levels – Display resolution increases from 260x260px to 454x454px – Watch thickness decreases by 1.2mm (from 14.4mm to 13.2mm) – Case size remains the same at 47mm for both FR955 and FR965 – Increased size of display from 1.3” to 1.4” (case size remains the same, as bezel thickness decreases) – Changed to always-on AMOLED display (more vibrant colors/brightness/etc.) In any event, here’s what’s new/different on the Forerunner 965 compared to the Forerunner 955 series: They said that for the meantime that was going to be the case, but longer term they’d probably diverge. In other words, the Forerunner 965 and Forerunner 955 will reach parity within the next quarter, but, when asked whether that would remain the case going forward (in effect having an AMOLED and non-AMOLED version of the same watch), Garmin was less confident. In fact, even some of the new software features of the Forerunner 965 are already slated to arrive on the Forerunner 955 (and some have somewhat accidentally already arrived in the past few weeks via Garmin Connect online). In most ways, the Forerunner 965 is essentially an AMOLED display version of the Garmin Forerunner 955 (released just 9 months ago). Once this unit goes back, I’ll go out and buy my own for any future testing needs. As usual, this review is not sponsored (nor does any company get to preview anything I review), and I don’t take any advertiser money from any companies I review. Garmin sent over media loaners to test out. All in the pursuit of seeing how well these watches actually work for both daily endurance sports training and day-to-day usage. Sure, it’s still using the same tried and trueish Garmin charging connector on the watch side, but at least the box now includes the USB-C variant of it.Īs usual, I’ve been putting the Forerunner 965 (and Forerunner 265) through their paces – with swims, runs, rides – all indoors and outdoors, and then daily 24×7 usage as well. And the best new feature? Perhaps just the new Garmin USB-C charging cable. These metrics essentially compare your recent training load to your longer-term training load. In addition to the display, the new Forerunner 965 adds wrist-based native running dynamics (plus the wrist-based running power recently introduced on the Forerunner 955), as well as new training load metrics around Chronic Training Load and Training Load Ratio. Of course, the key difference between what Garmin does here and what other companies have done with AMOLED displays comes down to battery life – with Garmin’s variants typically lasting orders of magnitude longer than most. This nearly completes Garmin’s equipping of different watch lineups with fancier AMOLED displays, as last year we saw them introduce the Epix series (a Fenix 7 variant), and the year prior the Venu 2 series (a more mass market watch). Garmin has just announced two new watches – the Forerunner 965 (this review), and the Forerunner 265/265S ( full review here!), both multisport watches and both equipped with swanky AMOLED displays. |
